
The women of I AM RARE Foundation desires to make a social impact upon their communities. Our team is comprised of women of various, races, ages, religious beliefs, and educational levels, but we all share the love of empowering young girls. We believe it is our life's work to mentor and serve the next generation of women.

DR. JACYNTH JOYCE
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Jacynth Joyce is a passionate educator and advocate for young girls. With over a decade of public education experience and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, she's taught middle and high school English, coached teachers, supervised two middle schools, and served as a state-wide professional development consultant with New Jersey Education Association.
Jacynth obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Science for Teachers from State University of Plattsburgh, NY. In addition, she has completed a second Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Kean University.
Jacynth is passionate about education and social entrepreneurship.
MEET THE TEAM

MADELEN SOTO
Madelen currently serves as the Elementary School After School Supervisor. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Communications and Theatre from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

ALICIA AMACHEE
Alicia currently serves as the Elementary School After School Assistant Supervisor. She is a Plainfield High School graduate and plans to study medicine in college. Alicia is a 2017 graduate of the RARE Academy After School program.

ANETTE NARVAEZ
Anette currently serves as the Middle School After School Assistant Supervisor. She currently is a Plainfield High School graduate and attends college full-time. Anette is a 2017 graduate of the RARE Academy After School program.

ZELDA SPENCE
Zelda is the Director of the 21st Century Community Learner Center of the Plainfield Public School District and is RARE's lead grant partner. RARE Foundation and 21st CCLC has entered into their 4th year of partnership.

AYO MUSTAPHA
Ayo currently serves as the High School After School Supervisor. She is a graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Psychology at Rutgers University New Brunswick, NJ.

KIA EDGEHILL
Kia currently serves as the Middle School After School Supervisor. She is an actor, model, and entrepreneur. Kia uses her platform to empower young women to walk in their self worth and use their faith to guide them.
